General quality specification and acceptance standard for disc springs, supplementing DIN 2093 design requirements. Specifies material certificates (EN 10204 Type 2.2/3.1), dimensional inspection (AQL 2.5), force calibration (AQL 4.0), fatigue type testing, surface quality and corrosion protection. Defines 3 quality classes: Class A (precision, force tolerance ±5%), Class B (industrial, ±10%), Class C (general, ±15%). Latest revision integrates original DIN 2093 quality clauses and DIN EN ISO 9001 process audit requirements.

Class A (precision): force tolerance ±5%, critical applications (aerospace, precision machinery). Class B (industrial): ±10%, standard industrial. Class C (general): ±15%, non-critical. Class affects inspection frequency, certificate requirements, and pricing (A:B:C ≈ 2:1.5:1).

Material & Traceability

Materials require EN 10204 inspection certificate. 3.1 certificate (independent inspector verified) mandatory for Class A, optional (recommended) for Class B; Class C accepts 2.2 (mill self-declaration). Heat number and heat treatment batch number retained per lot.

Testing Methods & Sampling

Dimensional: AQL 2.5, Level II (normal). Force: AQL 4.0, Level S-3 (special). Hardness: 100% or AQL 1.0. Fatigue: 5 pieces/lot (Class A), 3 pieces/lot (Class B), type test only (Class C).

Surface Treatment & Corrosion Protection

Standard: phosphated+oiled (48h salt spray). Enhanced: Zn-plated 5μm (96h), Dacromet 8μm (480h), Geomet (720h+). Stainless steel (A2/A4) needs no coating. Friction coefficient per DIN EN ISO 16047.
